Dear Katie and Family,
It's with a heavy heart that I write these words for someone we will never forget. There are so many years, so many memories, good times and hard times, that we motormen and so many others shared with Rod. I always knew that if I needed any help - I could count on him. He was a strong and true friend to me and to us all. He will be missed and remembered often and you will always be a part of our special family.
Bev and I send our thoughts and prayers that you find stength and comfort in all the years and happy times that you and Rod shared together. Remember, "the sun will come again to the valley".
With love,
Chip and Bev Connor, USPP, Motorman, Retired

Dear Katie,
What a great friend Fred was, the consummate Motorman! He was quick with a joke or story and always ready to help a friend.
As others have said, he is patrolling the parkways of heaven and turning around those who are not yet ready to pass the gates.
We offer you and the family our condolences.

Hello Katie, I worked the the USPP Motorcycle Training unit from 1984-1997. I with Fred and Greg Ford. We worked very well together as a team. Fred was the lead instructor, I thank him because I learned so much from Fred, I am so proud to have work with them. But now he has moved on, he is in good hands now, no more suffering or pain. In God'S house, all things are alright he is now working in God's house and all is well for him. So try not to be to sad because he alright now.. We will keep you and your family in our prayers. Katie, I was so sorry to hear of Freds passing. He and I were on the motor squad for many years. Fred gave the impression that he was a hard core, but when you got to know him he was a very caring person with a BIG heart. He will be missed by all who knew him. I will think of him as riding his motorcycle along the streets of Heaven.

Hello Katie, I really don't know what to say or where to begin. Softball as a rookie, motors for 10yrs, Firearms range, hunt clubs, FLETC ... Fred occupied such a large part of my life. He was truly a unique and strong character with such a big personality and an un match able wit. Ultimately he had sincere and kind heart and was someone I valued as a friend. I am sorry that Fred had such a struggle these last years. I am sorry for your lost and can only offer prayers for you and yours. I sure Fred and Narcy (Ski) are up to something already.

Hi Katie,
I was so sorry to hear that Fred has passed away. I worked in VA many years ago, on the GW Pkwy. Fred and Woody Johnson organized and coached a USPP softball team and they invited me to play. We went to several tournaments in Va and Md. It was great fun and full of wonderful memories. Fred was an inclusive type of person, always bringing people together in Fred's unique way.
When I transferred to San Francisco we lost contact but I luckily got to see him in Ga., on several trips I made there for training and a temp teaching assignment on the range at FLETC.
Please accept my sympathy and convey my condolences to the rest of the family. I know that Fred's quality of life was not where it should have been recently and that he is in a better place now.
Do take care,
Steve Prickett

Prayers and condolences to you and your family, Katie. My dad, George O'Neill, worked with Rod, but my memories are from when Dad and Rod played softball together on the USPP team in the Northern VA Police Softball League. My mom, sisters, and I attended quite a few of the games when I was a kid!
May God give you peace and comfort, even as you grieve.

Dear Katie, Children and Family: We're saddened at your loss and extend our sympathy, thoughts and prayers. May God give you peace and comfort.
Rod was a fine police officer and I recall serving on details alongside Rod in the early 70's. Some fond memories were the days we played together on the Northern Virginia Police softball league and sharing stories at the RUSPPA reunions. Regards, dave&shirlee mcallister, uspp (ret.)
