Obituary of Walter Pereira

Walter Pereira, at the age of 75 passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long brave battle with Lewy Body and Alzheimers. He passed at Solaris f/k/a Charlotte Harbor Healthcare in Port Charlotte on April 15, 2016. He was born in Iquitos, Peru on October 08, 1940 to Julio Pereira Seguin and Rosalinda Arevalo de Pereira. He had three brothers, Julio "Lillo", Hector and Jaime. He married the love of his life, Victoria Quevedo on April 16, 1965 in Lima, Peru. He went to college on a soccer scholarship. Upon graduating from college he realized that he wanted to better his life so he decided to go on the adventure of his life to the United States. In 1968, at the age of 27 he came to Port Charlotte. This was especially difficult since the only English that he knew was the little bit that he had learned in school. He was bound and determined to learn the language. Therefore, he came to Port Charlotte and began working at Port Charlotte Terrazzo and waited tables at night. A few years later he began working for Menzer Pools and quickly learned to build pools. In 1977, he began his own company, Inca Solar Pools, Inc. which he successfully ran for over 30 years. He had quite a reputation for being honest and trustworthy. Walter is survived by his beautiful wife, Victoria "Vicky" Pereira; his daughter, Angela Naskale (Chris); his son, Walter John Pereira (Jacqueline); grandchildren, Victoria Naskale, Christopher Naskale, Michael Pereira and Sophia Pereira; brothers, Julio Pereira, Hector Pereira and Jaime Pereyra; and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Julio Pereira and mother, Rosalinda de Pereira. Services will be held this Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Rd, Punta Gorda 33950. Viewing will be from 4pm to 6pm with a service by Rev. Jerry Kaywell at 6pm, followed by a reception. The burial will be on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 2pm at Restlawn Memorial Gardens,1380 Forrest Nelson Blvd, Port Charlotte 33952.
