Obituary of Dolores F. Thompson

Dolores F. Thompson, 85, of Port Charlotte, Florida went to be with the Lord, Monday, July 6, 2015 at Bayfront Hospital in Port Charlotte. She was born February 9, 1930 in New Albany, Indiana to Ernest and Fern Flock and moved to this area 30 years ago. Dolores was retired from the Bureau of the Census in Jeffersonville, IN and she was also a caregiver for Alternative Homemaking of Port Charlotte for approximately 20 years. Dolores was a wonderful family person who was very active in her church and volunteered with Punta Gorda Alliance Church Bread Ministry in Punta Gorda, FL and was very supportive of the mission field. Dolores is survived by three loving daughters, Karen T. DeLacy of Punta Gorda, FL, Kathy M. Marshall of Arcadia, FL, and Robin (Daniel) Purlee of Sellersburg, IN; sister, Linda Keilman of New Albany, IN; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and 3 nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, 1 grandson, and her recently passed son-in-law, Roger DeLacy. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00PM on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Punta Gorda Alliance Church, 7500 Florida Street in Punta Gorda. A Service will follow with Dr. Clint Stasney officiating. Burial will be at 9:30AM on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL.
