Obituary of Kenneth Gregg Althouse

Kenneth G. "Ken" Althouse, 72, of Arcadia, Florida passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2015 surrounded by the love of his wife, son, daughter, and close cousin, Janet Price at Tidewell Hospice House on Veronica Street in Port Charlotte, FL. He was born October 25, 1942 in Wayne, MI to the late John "Bud" and Mildred Althouse. Being raised in various Kansas locations, Ken moved to Dallas, TX, where he met the mother of their children. Ken's extensive career with Boeing began in Wichita, KS, then Seattle, WA and Philadelphia, PA. A career change to Rockwell brought him to Columbus, OH, then across The Pond to Lancashire, England, back to the USA, and Chicago, IL. Finally returning to Boeing in Philly, Ken retired from Huntsville, AL, where he was the Director of Operations for the International Space Station of which he was so proud. He was the President of the Golf Association of Florida, a Moose Member, and Life Member of the Punta Gorda Elks #2606. Ken leaves behind the Love of his Life, his wife, Veronica "Ronni"; son, Shaun and favorite daughter-in-law, Kelly; daughter, Stacy; four grandchildren, Dayna, Morgan, Michael and Mikayla; stepson, Kyle; and great-granddaughter, Danika. Also he is survived by his "Victoria Angel", sister, Vicky Jo and husband, Glenn Clark; niece, Jenni and husband, Matt, and their children; brothers-in-law, Vince and Billy, and his wife, Melody; several nieces, nephews and cousins. There are not many people who you can say the world is a better place because they were here. Ken is one of those people. There will never ever be anyone quite like him.
