I worked with Ken at Marshall Space Flight Center Bldg. 4708 on the (ISS) Space Station program until his retirement, I'm still on that program to this day. Ken was the type of MANAGER, and friend, that his door was ALWAYS open. When he retired we lost what I consider the best manager that I have ever worked with and worked for at Boeing and I've been her 33 years. We stayed in touch for some time after his retirement and was always welcome to his home. I'm a better person for knowing him. God Bless you Ken Althouse and REST IN PEACE!

I had the privilege to work for Ken at Boeing and was sad at hearing of his passing. I counted him as one of my three mentors at Boeing that helped me so much in my career. While I have lost two in the last month, I will always have the memories of a great man with me. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

What a great neighbor!...one who'd dismount his golf cart and play 'tennis' with a furry, four-legged 'lady' who was overjoyed to hear his cart and see him cruising up the street...greeting Ken with tail wagging wildly and 'handing' over her ball. Sound and scene laughable, and always memorable. ---Holly, Perm, and Gary

Ken Althouse was a pleasure to be around at work but especially so during our many Myrtle Beach Golf Trips. Some of the more expensive restaurants in Myrtle Beach liked to give exotic names to their main dishes. Having been well travelled Ken would tell us what kind of food it was and in many cases, describe how it was normally prepared. As a result I considered him to be a connoisseur.
One evening at Sam Snead's Restaurant Ken had Key Lime Pie for dessert and afterward he said it was "the best key lime pie that he ever had." So for the next year I told everyone if they ever eat at Sam Snead's in Myrtle Beach to try the key lime pie because as a connoisseur, Ken Althouse said it was the best.
A year later, again at Sam Snead's, Ken ordered a different dessert. I asked him why he didn't order the key lime pie as it was the best he had ever had. His reply was, "It was the only key lime pie that he ever had." Oops!!
Ken was a good man and a class act! He was liked and respected by all who knew him. Please accept my condolences for your loss!!

Never had an issue working with Ken, even though we were on different sides of the fence. Maybe that's because we used to play pinball at lunchtime drinking beer and eating pizza at The Willows. Great guy.

Ken was a great guy. I remember him well from both of his stints at Boeing. First as Senior Manager of Manufacturing Engineering and later after he returned from Rockwell when he took over as Operations Program Manager for V-22. He was a great help to me in my career always helpful and optimistic especially when things weren't going as well as planned. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family in their time of sorrow.

My dear friend Ronni, words can't express how sorry I am. I know he was your world, as it was plain to see not even knowing him well that you were his also! May he rest in peace and you find comfort in knowing he is now your number one guardian Angel until you meet again.

Ken was my neighbor and active in the community. I first got to know Ken the day after Charley when he, I and many men in the area worked an entire day to clear the road from fallen trees. He was always ready to take up a cause, to right a wrong and I respected him for that. I am sure I speak for all the neighbors here in Sunny Oaks when I say he will be sorely missed.
