Obituary of Josephine Miriam Caswell Evans

Josephine Miriam Caswell Evans, 92, died Monday, April `15, 2013, in Arcadia, FL under the care of Hospice. She was born in Milford, Michigan to Merrill and Mildred Caswell on September 8, 1920. She had a sister , Doris who has predeceased her. After growing up on a farm and graduating from high school she moved to Commerce Lake, Michigan when she met and married her husband of 73 years, Vernon M. Evans. They moved to Waterford, Mi. and raised 3 children. She worked at Pontiac Motors for many years then became a secretary for the city of Pontiac. After she and Vern retired, they moved to Pensacola, Florida to be near her daughter, Christine, and some of her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing and being with her family. They later moved to Sarasota to be closer to her other daughter, Judy. She was always a positive person and had a smile for everyone. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband, Vern and her beloved granddaughter, Lori Hughes. al Gifts may be made to Alzheimer's Association Florida Gulf Coast Chapter, 14010 Roosevelt Blvd., #709 Clearwater, Florida 33762. She is survived by her 3 children, Judith Sutherby, and her husband James of Punta Gorda, Thomas Evans and his wife Victoria of Palm Bay, FL and Christine Adkins of Manvel, TX as well as 7 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
