Grandma was the best. I remember going to the house in Waterford and the one in Pontiac growing up. Breakfast with French toast in the morning was always my request and I can't remember her ever turning me down for it either. I always enjoyed watching Tarzan movies on TV at their Pontiac house. I would sit on that couch thing that was built into the wall with Mitzy on my lap while Grandma worked around the house and talked with me. The occasional journey to the bowling alley with her was always a special treat. I remember a road trip I took with her and Grandpa in their cutlass supreme down to Florida from Michigan. I was 16 and just starting to drive. Grandpa had gotten tired of driving and needed a nap so he let me drive...through the Appalachian mountains while he slept in the back! I don't remember what Grandma and I talked about but we had fun. Driving and talking. Then she mentioned I should probably slow down as we were flying down the mountains about 80mph. Grandpa's head popped up from the back and he quickly told me a thing or two about driving down the side of a mountain. Probably best he woke up because I think Grandma and I would have just kept on talking until we hit 100mph. The last time I saw her in her care facility it saddened me to see her more confused and not quite the same but she still had her special smile. Grandma will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her but I am sure she is at peace now and I'm sure she and Grandpa are enjoying seeing each other again.
