Obituary of Vernon Beck Jr

Vernon Beck Jr. 96, of Port Charlotte passed away February 9, 2024, at his home. He was born to the late Vernon Beck Sr and Catherine Bein-Beck in Baltimore MD in 1927. Vernon graduated from McCoy College with a degree in engineering. He later received his degree from Johns Hopkins University also in engineering. He served his country in the US Army during WWII and after the war he continued to serve his country working as an engineer for the US Defense Department. Venon will be remembered as an optimist. He was generous and kind. He received great joy from helping others. He was a HAMM Radio Operator and an avid reader. Survivors include, Vernon’s friend and care giver, Genevive Fernandez, brothers-in-law, Joseph Cangelosi and Larry Mocadlo. In addition to his parents, Vernon is preceded in death by his loving wife, Delores Steinfeldt- Beck. A memorial service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 9400 Indian Springs Cemetery Road in Punta Gorda, FL.
