Obituary of Patricia J Oldeck
Patricia Josephine Oldeck (Mochty), age 84, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024, while
surrounded by her husband and daughters.
Pat was born in Flint, MI to her parents Jack & Gladys Mochty on January 3, 1940. On January 31, 1959,
she married her love Joseph Oldeck, recently celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary. Together they
had three daughters, Terri (Loyd) Walter, Jacqueline Oldeck, and Annette Templin. She was blessed with
four grandchildren, Jenna Walter, Audra (David) Weishaus, Neil Walter and Mitchell Moralez.
She is survived by her sister Cathy (John) Keener, many nieces and nephews, childhood friend, Laura
DeGuise and life-long friend, Sheila Baker. Pat was preceded in death by her brother Leo “Sonny” and
sister-in-law Carolyn Mochty.
Pat loved her family and dedicated her early years to raising their daughters, creating a warm and loving
home, coaching cheerleaders and teaching CCD at St. Mary’s, Flint. Pat, along with her husband and
daughters, built from the ground up, a second home in northern MI, always offering three square meals
(prepared on a Coleman camp stove!) to all family and friends who pitched in to help build.
Once all daughters were grown and out of the house Pat filled the empty nest with college courses and
found her niche working in the banking industry for over twenty years. One of Pat’s passions was to
travel, ensuring she and her husband, Joe, attended Sunday mass at the local church in whichever
country or state they were visiting.
Pat had a gifted talent as an artist/painter, drawing inspiration from being an avid walker for decades
and from her love of the great outdoors.
A memorial service and mass will be held in Patricia's honor on February 13, 2024. In lieu of flowers,
please have a mass said for her soul at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Punta Gorda, FL. sacredheartfl.org
