Obituary of Barrie Bever

Barrie Bever, Age-86 of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on December 11th, 2023, at Shore Point Health in Port Charlotte, FL. Barrie was born on August 18th, 1937, in Centerville, Iowa. Barrie graduated in 1955 from Huntington Beach High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for Southern California for 34 years and worked for Home Depot for 18 ½ years before finally retiring. Barrie was also a member of American Legion Post 103, he enjoyed making all kinds of things such as, stained glass, and things out of wine cork and bottle caps. Barrie never met a stranger; he was always willing to help anybody. Barrie is survived by his wife of 49 years Nancy, daughter Denise (Mike)Striegal,three grandchildren; Tanner, McKyndal and Dalton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Barrie is preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Helen Bever. A celebration of Barrie’s life will be held on Sunday February 11th, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the American Legion Post 103 2101 Taylor Rd Punta Gorda, FL 33950. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital in Barries name.
