Uncle; Patrick Hayes, Mike Timbs (Charlote Timbs) Casey liked to bore us with listening to History podcasts on long drives and remind us just how smart he was by correctly answering every question on Jeopardy. Who needed Google when we had Casey? He became an avid runner after running his first 5k with his dad. Initially he swore he wouldn’t run any further than 3 miles, but through his dad's constant nagging, he quickly started running Ultra’s. Soon enough he was passing his dad but was kind enough to wait for him at the finish line with a thumbs up. Casey made many friends through running. The longer his runs got, the shorter his shorts got! Casey just celebrated his 7-year work anniversary with the City of Punta Gorda. He started out as a Maintenance Tech III and through hard work and dedication, moved his way up the ladder to become a skilled Instrument Technician. Casey had a knack for turning co-workers into great friends. Casey and Connie were high school sweethearts. They met at the young age of 16. Their first date didn’t go well and the next day, he showed up to her work at the Roadhouse Steakhouse and helped her sweep up the peanut shells that were on the floor without saying a word. Once the shells were all swept up, he waited for her to finish closing up and walked her out to her car. That is when she knew he was worth another a shot. And boy, was she right! Casey and Connie have two beautiful children, a marriage that people would envy, and a love that wasn’t questioned. He was a great man, a loyal husband, a loving father, a devoted son, a hard worker, and a dedicated friend. Casey was adored by many and he will be truly missed.
