Obituary of George Ray Wilson

George Ray Wilson Sr. Age 79 of Port Charlotte, FL passed away at Fawcett Hospital on Saturday December 9th 2023. George was born on December 5th 1944 in Fort Ogden, FL to the late Harvey and Eula Mae Wilson. He was a graduate of Desoto High School and moved to Port Charlotte in 1983 where he owned and operated his own Lawn and Tree Service. George enjoyed fishing, woodworking, traveling and karaoke. He is survived by his loving wife Beverly, five children’ Theresa Rains, Janice Kay Martin, George R. Wilson Jr. George A. Wilson and Amy Wilson. Seven stepchildren, Charles Guild, John Guild, Kimberly Roper, Lisa Elliot, Leona Sanders, Rebecca Wilson and Jack Rogers. Two sisters, Ovelle “Bell” Wiggins and Estelle “Bonnie” Wilson. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Eula Mae Wilson. Four Brothers, Willard Wilson Albert Wilson Rubin (PeeWee) Wilson and Jack Wilson. Eight sisters, Rose Lee Wilson, May Murry, Pat Wilson, Peggy Gower, Joyce Nix, Annis Marie Wilson and a set of twins who passed at birth. A visitation will be held on Friday December 15th from 11-12 noon at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home 9400 Indian Springs Rd. Punta Gorda, FL where services will begin at 12 noon. Interment to follow in Kabrich Cemetery Arcadia, FL. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made to the family to defray expenses.
