Obituary of Mary Viola Lugiewicz

Mary Viola Lugiewicz, 96, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away on November 18, 2023. She was born on January 15, 1927, in Los Angeles, California. Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Mary is survived by her loving daughters, Linda Ecker, Lorrie Hoffman (James Hoffman), Catherine Soellinger (Aaron Soellinger), and Sue Lugiewicz (Karina Lazorick). She was also cherished by her son, James Lugiewicz (Deb Lugiewicz). Mary leaves behind the legacy of 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Curtis Lugiewicz, her son, Robert James Lugiewicz, and her brothers, Robert Shadron and Tom Shadron. Mary attended Venice High School in California, where she completed her education. She later went on to work as a Walmart Team Member in Port Charlotte, Florida. Mary was a member of St. Maximillian, where she found solace and strength in her faith. In her free time, Mary enjoyed various hobbies including golfing, painting, sewing, collecting shells, traveling, and playing slots at the casino. Funeral services will be held at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home in Punta Gorda, Florida on January 6, 2024 at 11 a.m. A Celebration of Life will follow the service. Mary Viola Lugiewicz will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
