Obituary of Diane G. Culver

Diane G. Culver, Age-89, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, FL on Wednesday October 25th, 2023. Diane was born on November 5th, 1933, in Staten Island, New York and graduated from Cornell University in 1955. Diane worked as a chemist and was a loving mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. Diane came to Punta Gorda in 2001 with her husband John. They enjoyed boating and traveling. She also enjoyed knitting, puzzles, reading, bible study and her beloved cat, Pooka. Diane was active in the choir at the First Presbyterian Church of Punta Gorda where she was also an Elder. Diane was a member of the Punta Gorda Yacht Club and previously the Winchester Hospital Womens Auxiliary. Diane is survived by her four children, Karen (Steve) Halverson; Sharon (Glenn Vincent) Focht, Keith H. Culver and Carol Lee (Jack) Hazel. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; Phillip and Alice Colin and her husband of 52 years, John H. Culver. A celebration of Life will take place at First Presbyterian Church of Punta Gorda date and time to be determined. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County or Tidewell Hospice House of Port Charlotte. Diane will be dearly missed by family and friends.
