Obituary of Michael Baransky

Michael John Baransky, 83, of Punta Gorda, passed away August 30, 2023. He was born July 28, 1940 in Long Beach New York to the late John and Betty Baransky. Michael moved to Punta Gorda thirteen years ago from Bridgeport, CT. He was a printing press operator for Imperial Graphics and was also a member of Bethel Recovery Center and the Christian Service Brigade. His interests were reading the Bible, spreading the gospel, traveling, and gardening. On March 15, 2014, Michael married Deborah Kurtz and they began their life together in Florida. Survivors include his loving wife Deborah, son, Daniel James Baransky, daughter, Mary Kittredge, son Matthew Fuete, brothers, Roy Baransky, John Baransky, and Robert Baransky, sisters, Anita Zimla, Janet Baransky, Georgianne Lockwood, Lorraine Elhammamy, Paula Baransky, stepsons, Jarrad Heyer, Claude Lafollette, stepdaughters, Heather Mccandless and Leah Brockenberry, grandchildren, Matthew, Sara, Luke, Samuel, Alisha, Stephen, Jeorie, Phillip, Xavier, Jarrad, Jenna, Dylan and Ayden. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, one son Michael Fuete, daughter, Dorothy Baransky, brothers, George Baransky and Joseph Baransky, sister, Carol Kay, grandson, Nathaniel Kittredge, and significant others, Claudine Green and Glaida Martin. His life was a testament to the power of the Lord to transform and utilize us as evidenced by his 44 years of sobriety, involvement in prison outreach programs, and participation in church. He extended a hand of friendship to everyone he met regardless of their circumstances, and he touched countless lives due to his faith, wisdom, and knowledge. Compassion and character radiated from his eyes. He could regularly be found reading, studying, and quoting the Bible, his highest passion, as well as traveling, gardening or attending the occasional Yankee game with his son.
