Obituary of Robert A. Scheib

Deacon Robert A. Scheib, Age-84 of Punta Gorda, FL passed away on Thursday August 16th 2023 at Flex Specialty Hospital in Fort Myers, FL. Robert was born on January 3, 1939; in Detroit, Michigan. Robert served in the United States Army as a Paratrooper and was stationed in Korea. He was a graduate of Cleary University and Indiana Northern Graduate School of Professional Management. Robert was a Human Resource and Fund Development Executive in the healthcare field. He also completed his Pastoral Ministry and Deaconate Preparation at Major Seminary and was ordained to the permanent Deaconate on October 17th 1987 at Blessed Heart Cathedral in Detroit, Michigan. His permanent Deacon assignments included St. Marys Church in Marysville, Michigan and St. Peters Church in Wellsboro, PA. His ministry services included, Clown Ministry, Blue Water Hospice, Beginning Experience, Marwood Manor Nursing Home and Mercy Hospital Pastoral Care Department. Robert was an active member with Sacred Heart Catholic Church here in Punta Gorda and volunteered with St. Vincent DePaul. He was active in The Rotary Club, Elks and Eagles Lodge, Goodwill Industries, Blue Water Personnel and Healthcare Professional Philanthropy Associations. Robert enjoyed jogging, ballroom dancing and home projects. He is survived by his life partner Nancy Simonis and two sisters, Mary Harmon and Kristine Donaldson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Rita Scheib and two brothers Charles Jr. And Wiliam Scheib. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday August 22nd at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 211 West Charlotte Avenue Punta Gorda, FL 33950. Interment will be held at a later date.
