Obituary of David Ronald Trombley

David Ronald Trombley, 86, was born on 9/10/1936. He passed away on 1/30/2023 peacefully at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte Florida after a brief battle with cancer. David graduated Ludlow High School in 1954. He was a veteran of the military servicing in the Air Force. He attained his Barber’s certification and worked in his grandfather and father’s family barbershop to pay his way through college. In 1957 he married the first love of his life, Barbara Trombley. He later earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, majoring in Management from Western New England College graduating in 1963. After graduating college, David worked primarily in the insurance industry, first in Ludlow, MA, then Syracuse, NY where he worked for Haylor, Freyer and Coon, eventually managing a satellite company in Morrisville, NY and then retiring. As youngster, growing up in a poor agriculture area, David dreamt about traveling to the places he could only read about in books. After retiring and losing his first wife, he decided to achieve his lifelong pursuit to see the world, traveling to exotic areas where he hiked, climbed mountains, rode his bike, stayed in hostels, and lived out his dreams. David was blessed to find the second love of his life, Jennifer Trombley, whom he married in 2002. Together they traveled, happily residing in Guilford CT, and then continued their journey, moving to Punta Gorda, FL in 2016. David was a member of the Shriners in NY, the Elks in CT and was an avid member of the Punta Gorda Boat Club in Florida where he once served as secretary. David was predeceased by his parents, Loretta and Ronald Trombley, his sister Jean Trombley, and the first love of his life, Barbara A. Trombley, in 1992. A devoted husband and father, he is survived by his wife, Jennifer Trombley, his daughter Laura Trombley Norton and son-in-law Bill Norton, his estranged brother William, as well as nieces and nephews David, Leslie, Edward, Beth, and Dana.
