Obituary of Gladys Ann Kuykendall

Gladys Ann Kuykendall, 87 of Port Charlotte, Florida, died on Sunday, May 14 at Tidewell Hospice House with her loving daughter by her side. She was born April 18, 1936, in Marion, NC to the late Thomas and Mary (Randolph) Lee. She moved to this area in 1973 when her husband retired from the Army. She is a Nascar racing enthusiast and traveled to see many a race. She also enjoyed watching the races on tv along with baseball and golf. She loved shopping, dining out and spending time with her family. She also loved spending time with her grand “dogs” Ariel and Sarah, and grand “bird” Sampson. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, family and everyone who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband of 45 years, Carl Kuykendall. She is survived by her daughter Pamela Butt (Mickey) of Port Charlotte, and three siblings, Ruth Duncan of Dysartsville, North Carolina, Charles Lee of Marion, North Carolina and James Lee (Debbie) of Morganton, North Carolina. Flowers can be sent to Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home for display during services.
