Obituary of John Gordon Seatter

John G. Seatter, aged 82, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away on October 31, 2022. He was born on July 27, 1940, to Gordon and Rose Seatter in Berwyn, Illinois. He graduated from Riverside Brookfield High School in 1958 and then attended Duke University and Monmouth College, receiving a bachelor’s degree in 1963. John married Jane Howard on November 11, 1963. He served in the Army from August 1963 – August 1965. He then worked at Motorola Inc. from 1965 – 1998 while living in Western Springs, IL with his family. He retired in 1998 and John and Jane moved to Florida. In retirement, John served as President of their homeowners’ association for seven years, including oversight of recovery from Hurricane Charlie. Passionate about boating, he was a member of the Isles Yacht Club. John and Jane greatly enjoyed their retirement, traveling on their boat, Koko, along the Gulf Coast as much as possible. He is survived by his wife Jane Seatter; son, Brent Seatter; daughter, Carey Seatter (Jon Fischer); grandchildren, Kaelie Seatter, Maia Seatter, and Ian Fischer; and his sister, Judy Birchett.
