Timothy Paul Figel passed away at age 56 on Saturday, April 9th 2022 in Port Charlotte, Florida where he was surrounded by family and friends. He leaves his mother, Beverly (Mattick) Figel ; partner of 15 years, Janet Flood ; daughters, Lauren Flood and Kaelyn Flood ; sister, Pam Baldwin and husband Greg ; sister, Debbie Hemphill and husband John ; brother William Figel Jr. and wife Kim ; along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William Figel Sr. Born in Albany, New York, Tim grew up loving nature and the outdoors. He loved to go camping and ride his many bikes along with other adventures like going spelunking or taking his canoes out on the water for the day. He was also a passionate antique collector and if there was a garage sale or flea market on the weekend he was probably the first one there. More than anything, he loved his rescue Basset Hound, Lily, and took her everywhere with him. Tim dedicated his life to helping others. From rescuing animals to planting gardens at work, he did whatever he could to make the world around him a better place. Tim worked for the Center for Disability Services in Albany, New York for 37 years. As a Project Coordinator he dedicated his time there to the individuals at the program by organizing activities, fun field trips, and so much more. He was known for going above and beyond everyday to come up with creative ideas and projects that made the program an all around great place. Tim put the individuals enrolled in the program first no matter what and had a special bond with each and every one of them making such a positive impact on the lives of them and their families. Tim was a beloved family member and friend. He’s remembered for all of his cool collectibles and projects that he was always working on that made him such a fun and one of a kind person. He’s remembered for all of the times he stopped for an animal in need regardless of what he was doing, and taking the time to get them care and a good home, always selflessly going out of his way for others. He was creative, adventurous, funny and kind. Tim was someone we all looked up to and aspired to be like. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Mosher Park on Saturday, May 21st 12pm-4pm Address: 2 Park Drive Ravena, New York 12143
