Obituary of Jasmine J. Hall

Jasmine Joyce Hall entered the world on October 24, 1930, the eldest of 6 children to Adella and Theophilus Hall in the parish of St. James, Jamaica, W.I. Born in the community of Tower Hill, her parents relocated to Orange, St James where she spent her formative years and received early education at the Sudbury All Age School and successfully completed her first through third years studies. Jasmine possessed both intellect and physical beauty, which allowed her to successfully compete for and win the Miss Cornwall beauty pageant in the early 1950s; a title she proudly wore as she reigned for that year. The desire to grow and expand her opportunities motivated her move to Kingston in the early 1960s where she worked for many years at Seprod Limited as the laundry facilities supervisor. In this role she was the recipient of many prestigious awards. Jasmine accepted Jesus as her Lord and savior, in Kingston Jamaica, W.I. and faithfully served in various churches both in Kingston and St Catherine. Still with the burning desire to find better opportunities for herself and her children, she migrated to the US in the mid-1970s where she later became a CNA. She spent roughly twenty years between New York and Connecticut before she made the move to Port Charlotte, FL in 1988 where she would finally settle. Transferring her membership from Norwalk SDA church to the Punta Gorda SDA church, she faithfully served in several ministries until her health began to decline. Jasmine is survived by her 6 children: Paulette, Donovan, (Shirley), Gayon, Marleen, Conrod (Rachel) and Barry (Carol), 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Grace and Lorraine (Trevor), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones. On Monday, July 20, 2020 Jasmine took her final rest and was called by her master. The last words she was heard saying upon taking her last breath were, “Jesus! Jesus!” Sleep on in Jesus until you are called to everlasting life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please send donations to: Punta Gorda SDA Church P.O.
