Obituary of Lena Louise Moore

Lena L. Moore "Lee", 96 of Port Charlotte, FL. She went peacefully to her Lord on Thursday, May 14th, 2020. Lee was born in Hartford, CT. June 20, 1923. After singing with her High School Choir, she went on to sing professionally with Hartford area Big Bands. After World War 2 ended, while performing at the Petty Officers Club, she met the love of her life Master Chief Ex-POW Thomas Moore, USN. They were wed on Nov. 30, 1946 and were happily married 63 years until his passing in 2009. They Lived in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Hawaii before retiring to Punta Gorda, Florida. Besides being a great mom, she spent her working years as a rock star Avon Lady winning many awards. She also worked as a bookkeeper for the Navy exchange. Lee is survived by her son Thomas M Moore (Janice) of Solana Beach, Ca., daughter Nancy Chabot (Roland) of Port Charlotte and son David J Moore (Dale) of Port Charlotte, and her furry kitty companion, Frankie, named after her favorite singer Frank Sinatra. She will be dearly missed. She leaves behind her loving grandchildren, Jason, Stacy, Chris, Bobby, and Emily, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 twin sisters, Josie O'Connor and Eva Fasolo who were Born on the same date 5 years after her birth, and Several Nieces and Nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son, Michael J Moore and her older Brother, Phillip Leggio. She was a huge fan of the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team and enjoyed each game and every hot dog. A private service will be held at Charlotte Memorial Gardens on May 28, 2020.
