Obituary of Paul Louis Cartwright

Paul L. Cartwright, 80, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at his home. Paul was born on April 11, 1939 in Chicago, Ill. to Paul J. and Amanda Cartwright. Paul and his loving wife, Barb, moved to Port Charlotte in 2006 from Marion, Iowa. Paul graduated from York High School, Elmhurst, Ill., in 1958. He served in the U.S Army from 1963 – 1965. In 1965, he joined Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute as a computer operator on the Atlantis II research vessel, which took him around the world. It was always his dream to again sail around the world on his own boat. He is survived by his wife Barbara (Severson) Cartwright, sons Paul A. (Angella) of Ottumwa, Iowa and Ken of Avon, Minn, and daughter Michele Infanger (Bryan) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Four grandchildren include Paul J. and Marissa Cartwright, and Kelsey and Devin Infanger. He is also survived by sister Ellen Manning (Curt) of Inverness, FL. A memorial service will be held at a future date at Living Waters Lutheran Church, Port Charlotte, FL.
