Obituary of Deene Dreher

Gerald Deene Pulliam Dreher, 82 of Hernando Beach, FL and formally of West Memphis, Ark and Punta Gorda, FL died February 11, 2013. She was born March 10, 1930, the 6th of 9 children to the late Bee and Florence Wileman of South Pittsburg, TN. She married the late Lee Elgan Pulliam and settled in West Memphis, AR where they raised their 4 children. Following Lee's death in 1967 she married the late Sam P. Dreher in 1969 and later gave birth to her youngest son Sam Presley Dreher II. In 1988 she relocated to Punta Gorda, FL where in addition to helping to raise her grandchildren, she went to work as a cook first at Sally Jones Elementary and later at South Port Square Nursing Center. She retired in 2000 following a stroke. She was a member of Port Charlotte Church of Christ. In addition to her husbands, she was also predeceased by her beloved son Sam Presley Dreher II in 2012. She leaves behind a daughter; Chrystal Harris of S. Mills, NC and granddaughters Dawn Cake and Kelley Colonna (Gary), a son; Curtiss Pulliam (Carol) of Wilmington, NC and grandchildren Amy, Christopher and Dana Pulliam. Daughter Cindy Lutz (Tim) of Hernando Beach, FL and grandchildren Tyler Dreher, Beth Wheeler (Tim), and Benjamin Hooper, and son Clint Pulliam (Matina) of Port Charlotte and their daughters Brooke, Paige and Savanna Pulliam as well as 5 great granddaughters, and 1 great grandson. In addition to her children she leaves behind 2 sisters Mary Jayne Raster of Cusseta, GA and Betty Sue Strom (Carl) of Ft. Myers, FL and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1 pm Saturday March 2 at Port Charlotte Church of Christ, 20484 Midway Blvd. Port Charlotte, FL. She will be laid to rest at Charlotte Memorial Gardens, next to her son Presley in a private burial at a later date. Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery is in charge of details.
