Harold Parker ( Eddie) posted a condolence

Jimmy is my savior. 1964 there were several of us "kids" at the river for kinda of a going away party, Thanks to Uncle Sam. This was in August 1964 several of us were leaving in the next several months. Jimmy and Ray Armstrong and myself were swinging on a rope, diving into the river. We had been at it for a while trying to outdo each other. With my dive I hit bottom paralizing me from the neck down. I knew somthing was wrong but didn't know what.I floated to the top, saw people on the bank and went back under. It is true you see and think of things that have and will happen. As I layed on the bottom about to learn how to breath water, I looked up and saw light and a hand comeing at me, it was Jimmy and Ray. So I owe these two guys my life, there will never be a way to repay them for my life, Being a quaduplegic there wasn't much hope for me. I saw Jimmy while I was in the hospital, I went on to recover and go back to work, and was there for 37 years, then in 1996 the old injury came back, and am still fighting the good fight. I never go a day without seeing the light and hand as if God was reaching out to me. When I saw where Jimmy had passed there was no dought where he was going, he has always had a spot reserved for him. And I pray that someday we can laugh together one more time. Cheri be very proud of your Dad and what he has done there will never be another, so accept may Prayers and always remember he was my hero.
