Your father, grandfather and great grandfather meant so much to us. His excellent judgement helped us find the perfect house and financial consultant. Our future is
secure because of him. We have missed him so much. We loved his funny jokes, his knack for finding great restaurants (in fact, we have his book he put together of restaurants in and around the Eastern shore of Maryland), his fascinating careers, his informative stories and just the joy of having him as a friend. You were fortunate to have him in your lives as we were. Today was the day we found out about his passing and your mother's. We mourn for them. Zina and Joseph Lichaa

I loved working with Richard as a volunteer at the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office. It was a joy to know him as he shared many stories and jokes with me as we patrolled Englewood, Florida. JoAnn and I enjoyed our ballpark outings and dinners. My prayers and love for Carol and her family.

Richard was a great friend of ours going, back over 55 years, when he moved from Michigan to join the Foodcraft Management Corp at the "King's Inn Restaurant" in Columbus, Ohio.
We followed each other's careers ever since and often were invited to visit them in their many locations in Ohio, Louisville, and Florida. Richard was very knowledgeable about the restaurants and had a great sense of humor
Over the years, it was not unusual Richard to show up in Mansfield, Ohio for a short visit and then taking us out to dinner.
We had somewhat of lost track of Richard until we somehow found him on the web and we received his almost daily updates and humor. Our heart goes out to Carol and their families. He will be missed!

I was very sorry to learn of the passing of Dick Sivewright. I knew him for more than 25 years and always looked forward to spending time with him. He was a very bright man and had a great sense of humor. He truly enjoyed life. I treasured the few years that I worked for him and the many years I knew him. My condolences to Carol and the rest of his family. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Mike Fitzpatrick, McKinney, TX

Uncle Richard was such a memorable man. In the 5 years that I lived in DC, Carol and Richard were so great to me and my husband and really served as our home away from home on many occasions as we navigated our way through early careers, engagement and wedding. My two favorite memories include: my 24rd birthday where we turned a rainy weekend into a gambling adventure in Deleware and Uncle Richard introducing us to the famous Ben's Chili Bowl. know it took some courage for him to visit that "up-and-coming" neighborhood, but it was sure worth it! We had lots of good times and adventures over those years and I'm so grateful for the memories and relationship we were able to build during that time. I can still hear his laugh and see his big smile. Uncle Richard, you will be missed. My prayers and thoughts go out to the whole Siverwright family.

Richard was as guest in our home with his daughter our good friend Libby. It was a privilege and honor to meet him. My husband was a chief, so my Richard and Richard shared restaurant and cooking stories and had a lot of good laughs. He will be dearly missed and our sympathy and love go out to the family.

Richard was a repository of little known facts and information. He could tell you where to get the best potatoes in most any major city. Sure that wasn't important to most people, but it was to Richard. I remember traveling by train from Baltimore to New York City, when Richard asked a matronly lady sitting across the isle if she could help us with a mild disagreement. He asked her what she would make for dinner if it were for a special occasion (he bet she would mention a special potato dish). She replied, "Reservations" ... and Dick laughed until he cried.
I spent a number of years working for Dick at KFC and the thing I remember most was his explosive laughter and sense of humor. Sure, he was serious about business, but he loved to have fun in the process.
I moved back to Louisville, KY in the mid 90s ... and we lost contact, but I value the time we shared together. I am a better person thanks to our association.
Carol, Sharon and my prayers are with you today.

Dick was my best friend. We have known each other for over 30 years. In that time, we
we worked together, laughed together, and shared experiences that I will never forget.
When my wife passed away 5 years ago, I would have never got through that ordeal
without Dick and Carol's help and support. We spent so many happy times together
that I will never run out of positive memories of him. He was the kind of guy who was
always there when you needed him. I will miss him greatly.

I had the pleasure of working with Dick at KFC headquarters for some 14 years. Many of our interactions involved problems with shortness of time. But his wit, insight and problem-solving capability were always at the forefront even when the going was tedious or unpleasant. Dick was a truly fine man in all aspects of his life and a friend to so many people.
With condolences to the Sivewright family,

Carolyn and I were saddened to read of Richard's passing. We both fondly remember the weekend in October, 1994 we spent with you at your Eastern Shore home - went boating (I'm still amazed that he got us back to your dock in spite of the very dense fog—this from a Navy vet) and to the U of L / Navy football game. I recall that you even gave me a haircut!
Our careers at KFC crossed paths frequently. Some up, some down, and some sideways. As you may recall, I worked directly for/with Richard in the days of H. Salt and Seafood Galley. His super sharp sense of humor and deep knowledge of the fast food restaurant business kept his team together during (and after) some difficult times. We worked long and hard but always seemed to have the time to enjoy ourselves, thanks to Richard.
You and your family will be in our prayers.
With fondest regards,
Carolyn and Dave Klosterma

I was one of Dick's co-workers at KFC. At the time I met him, he was the General Manager of H.Salt. I was a newcomer and he helped me much in getting acquainted with the inner workings of KFC. One of my duties was the keeper of the secret recipes and H Salt had one, which I didn't know about, Dick helped me navigate through that. Later when he came into the KFC chicken part of the business, he and I worked together on the QSC program. Dick was always willing to help and assist and always, always with good humor. He was a good man. John Mann
