Obituary of Ronald Thompson

Ronald Thompson lost a long battle to cancer and went to be with the Lord on December 8. He was 69. Ronnie was born in Punta Gorda on January 2, 1947. In addition to his love of geneology, Ronnie enjoyed fishing, boating and spending time with his family. He proudly served in the army, including a tour of Viet Nam. He is survived by his wife Donna and children David Thompson, Steven Thompson and Stacy McDuffie. Also surviving are sisters Lillian Black Crutchfield, Faye Mansfield and Jean Terry. Ronnie was predeceased by brothers Charles Thompson Jr., Adel Thompson, Vic Thompson, Donald Thompson, Paul Thompson, Harold Thompson and sisters Lena Thompson and Grace Hamilton. Also surviving are grandchildren Talen, Aurora and Elora. A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 13 at 10:00 AM at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home followed by a service at 11 and burial with military honors at Indian Springs Cemetery in Punta Gorda.
