Obituary of Alberta Martoglio

The family of Alberta Martoglio, Punta Gorda, FL, is saddened to announce her passing. Alberta was born on July 29, 1932 to Walter and Anna O'Brien. She was surrounded by her loving family after a brief battle with cancer. She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Charles, their five children Vice Admiral (ret) Charles and his wife Darlene, Mary Ann and her husband Dodd Latimer, Chris and his wife Erin, Jeanne and her husband Dean Wilson and Fran and her husband Jeff Sharp. Charles and Alberta have nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Alberta was born in South Amboy, New Jersey and graduated summa cum laude from Mount Saint Vincent College, NYC. She was an accomplished educator in nursing and also received two Masters Degrees from Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland State University. Recognized by Who's Who of American W orking Women for her work in Respite Care, Alberta also worked as a Registered Nurse at a number of diverse medical facilities ranging from inner city clinics to a Veterans Administration hospital. She went on to teach nursing at the university level at Cleveland State University and at Edison College in Fort Myers, Florida. Viewing will be today (Friday) at 4-6 PM followed by a Catholic service and interment. This will all take place at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home 9400 Indian Springs Rd. Punta Gorda FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations to go to Tidewell Hospice, Englewood Hospice House.
