Obituary of Mark Joseph Horigan

Mark J Horigan passed away peacefully at his home in Rotonda West, FL on October 18, 2016 at the age of 61. He was born and raised in Milton, MA, the son of Thomas and Eileen (Brennan) Horigan. He also lived in Dedham, MA for over 20 years. Mark semi-retired to Rotonda West in 2014, having spent the previous 12 years in Alexandria, VA. Mark worked for the State of Massachusetts and later moved into Route Sales. He worked for Hostess Cakes and then became an owner/distributor with Pepperidge Farms. He enjoyed reading, golfing and attending and watching TV sports, especially football. He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Elks for over 38 years and has been a member of the Loyal Order of Moose for the past 15 years. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Eileen Horigan and brother, Dr. Thomas Horigan. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend of over 40 years, Concetta (Chetta) Horigan. He is also survived by his three nephews, Michael Mazzola, Patrick Horigan and Brendan Horigan; great-niece, Madison Mazzola and great-nephew, Matthew Mazzola. Mark also leaves Roxi, his loving German Shepherd and best "gal-pal" behind. He will be lovingly remembered by many other family members and friends. A memorial service will be held October 26, 2016 at 10:00 AM, in the chapel of Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Rd, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. A reception will follow at the Rotonda Elks Club, 303 Rotonda Blvd E, Rotonda West, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mark's name to the Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue in Mt.
