Obituary of Martha L. Glorius

Mickie L. "Mickie" Gorius, 91, a long time resident of Port Charlotte, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Treasure Coast Hospice Home in Fort Pierce, FL. She was born November 14, 1924 in Burketown, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents William B. Frank Sr. and Repha Craun Frank Kelly and two brothers, William B. Frank Jr and Stanley C. Frank. Mickie was also preceded in death by her loving husband George W. Glorius. She and her husband retired from owning and operating an interior design shop in Baltimore MD, prior to moving to Port Charlotte in 1972. Mickie was also a real estate agent in Port Charlotte and was also an avid volunteer, working with many charities throughout her retirement and was also a longtime member and past president of the Port Charlotte Garden Club. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia Glorius of Port St. Lucie, nephews, Tim Frank and Dick Johns, also of Port St. Lucie, a sister, Sarah Rhodes of Singers Glen, VA and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Charlotte Memorial Gardens Chapel on Indian River Rd., Punta Gorda, with burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 14251 Chancellor Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33953
