Obituary of Wanda Stevens

Wanda Stevens, 101 of Port Charlotte, FL died on August 4, 2016. She was born on January 21, 1915 in Winslow, IN and moved to Punta Gorda Isles in March, 1971 from Princeton, IN. With her husband, Frederick, they operated a Ben Franklin business for seven years in Sullivan, IN. In 1958, they opened two ladies retail businesses in Princeton, IN, from which they retired in 1971. Wanda was the buyer and merchandise manager of this operation. After retiring in Charlotte County, she and her husband operated the ladies retail shop known as Wanda's Touch of Elegance. Wanda was an active Eastern Star member in Indiana, becoming an Eastern Star Matron and serving 12 years as Grand Deputy of Rainbow for Girls. She was also the membership chairman for three years for Friends of Auditorium in Punta Gorda and a volunteer at Charlotte Regional Hospital for many years. Wanda was of the Presbyterian faith and an ex-elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Port Charlotte. She is survived by her beloved nieces, Donabel Armstrong and Lolita Ashcraft. Services will be private.
