Obituary of Barbara C. Halter

Barbara C. Halter, 80, passed away in Port Charlotte on March 19, 2016 after a long illness. She came to the area from Toledo, OH in 1999. She was active in the American Legion Post 110 Auxiliary in Port Charlotte and the VFW Post 8203 in North Port. Barbara loved singing, dancing, bingo and people. She especially loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Richard. Also surviving is a daughter Bonnie Crider (Rob), son Nick Hatzinikolis (Diane), son Joseph Hatzinikolis and daughter Elaine Hatzinikolis, a sister, Ruby Westrup and brother, Sonny DuShane. Barbara is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, March 28 from 5:00 - 7:30 PM at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Road in Punta Gorda. Services will be held Tuesday at Noon at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Deep Creek. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery in Port Charlotte.
