Obituary of Daniel Joseph McFarren

Mac McFarren, 68, of Port Charlotte, FL, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Born in Cincinnati, OH on November 12, 1947 to the late William and Marcella (Borger) McFarren, Mac served as a Marine in the Vietnam War, earning a Purple Heart. He was a proud retired firefighter from the city of Cincinnati's fire department before relocating to sunny southwest Florida a decade ago. Mac enjoyed the outdoors, riding his motorcycle, fishing, boating and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion Riders, Amvets and VFW. Mac was predeceased by his parents; son, Nicholas McFarren and brother, Tom McFarren. He is survived by his son, Daniel (Shelly) McFarren; daughers, Melissa (Jamie) O'Brien and Kelly McCarthy; brother, Jack Lenzer; grandchildren, DeAnna, Simon, Quentin, J.T., Gavin, Makayla, Collin, Savannah and Dylan; and great-grandson, Christopher. A Celebration of Mac's Life will be held on Monday, March 14 at 2:00PM at American Legion Post #103, 2101 Taylor Rd, Punta Gorda, 33950.
