Obituary of Walter Allen Milne

Walter "Mickey" Milne died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on February 15, 2016 in Punta Gorda, FL, at the age of 70. He was born in Rochester, NY on August 6, 1945 to Joan and Leo Milne. Mickey graduated from West High School in 1963 and married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ellen O'Keefe, in 1967. They had two children. Mickey proudly served as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966 to 1968 and received the National Defense Service Medal. After moving back to Rochester, he took a job at the Eastman Kodak Company, where he worked for 27 years, in a variety of positions in construction and construction management. Mickey was actively involved in youth sports, as a Vince Lombardi Youth Football coach and later, as a USA Football referee. Mickey is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Long of Oakland, CA; his son, Mark (Kirstie); and grandchildren, Broderick and Ella Milne of Kennesaw, GA. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ellen. Mickey's children remember him as a committed father and mentor who always encouraged them to pursue their goals. Cremation took place on February 19 and inurnment will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Fairport, NY, where Mickey will be committed into a plot next to his wife.
