Obituary of Pat Eckman

After a difficult battle with pancreatic cancer, Pat Eckman passed away on November 1, 2015 at Tidewell Hospice House with her daughter by her side. Born Helen Patricia Broach in Chickamauga, GA on June 4, 1943 to James S. and Helen G. (Bowers), Pat grew up on a Georgia farm. She spent a lot of time with her grandparents, aunts and uncles who she held in great esteem. Pat graduated from Tallulah Falls boarding school, completed business college and eventually moved to FL to live with her mother and stepfather, Edward Gerson. In her younger years, she devoted much time to the deaf ministry and children's choir at First Baptist Church. Pat was very involved as a room mother at her children's schools and was willing to go to bat for her kids in a heartbeat. She later obtained her LPN license. She was a dedicated nurse who touched the lives of many and believed in doing the right thing. Pat was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy. She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Larrie A.; children, Tana, Eric and Jon; daughter-in-law, Rebekah; grandchildren, Rachel, Luke, Grace and Emileigh; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tana and John McCann and nieces, Kimberly and Missy Broach.
