Obituary of Harold R. Lampman

Harold R. Lampman of Charlotte Harbor, Florida passed away on October 7, 2015 after a brief illness. Harold was born in Berea, Ohio February 4, 1927 to the late Anna Hartman and Rudolph Lampman. He graduated from Berea Community High School and entered into the Merchant Marines, then hired by the Berea Fire Department, where he achieved the rank of Captain, and retired. He moved to Florida in the late 80's where he developed Lampman Industries. Harold was pre deceased by two sisters and his companion of 21 years Marguerite Perkins. Harold was active in the community at MaryLou Park where he resided and held positions on the board. He was an avid Softball player. For more than 30 years he was a pitcher and manager of the local over 50, 60 & 70 leagues. He was a respected member of his beloved New Day Christian Church where he donated his time washing dishes in the kitchen and weeding the gardens outside. He is survived by his former wife Eleanor, two sons Gary and Steve Lampman of Punta Gorda, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many friends, colleagues and the adopted Perkins family. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, Oct. 11 at 4:00 PM at New Day Christian Church, 20212 Peachland Blvd. in Port Charlotte.
