Obituary of Donald Fleming

Donald Fleming of Port Charlotte, FL passed away September 29, 2015. He was born in Buffalo, New York to Walter J. and Julia (nee Clapp) Fleming. He graduated from Canisius High School, where he was a member of the Westside Rowing Club. Don graduated from Columbia College in New York City in 1953. After graduating college, Don enlisted in the Navy, where he was on the aircraft carrier, Essex. Upon completion of his duty, he enlisted in the Naval Reserves for an additional 5 years. Donald and his family moved to Port Charlotte in 1977, where they established The Parts Place, a family owned business. Don is survived by his wife, Glenda Fleming; daughter, Donna (Ron) Berst of Morresville, NC; sons, Craig, John (Betsy), and Eric (Sherry) Fleming; bonus daughter, Hollie (Dave) Watson of Port Charlotte, FL; grandchildren, Greg, Lauren, Joe, Brittany, Alyssa, Jessica, Ashley, Sarah, Meshella, Dominic, Grif, and Jordan; and 10 great-grandchildren with two on the way. Don was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara "Bonnie" Fleming. A private service will be held per Don's request.
