Obituary of Elnora Elizabeth Maugeri

Elnora Elizabeth Maugeri, 84, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, Florida. Elli, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on May 2, 1931 in Rome, New York to Milton and Phyllis (nee Falcone) Carpenter. She graduated high school from Rome Free Academy where she led the school band as their head majorette. Mrs. Maugeri moved to Miami, Florida in 1951 where she lived until moving to Punta Gorda 13 years ago. She was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Maugeri was a wife, mother and homemaker extraordinaire and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. Mrs. Maugeri is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Michael Maugeri of Punta Gorda; children, Kim Marie (Michael) Maugeri-Leonard of Punta Gorda, Michael Maugeri, Jr. of Punta Gorda, and Michele Maugeri of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren, Alexis Maugeri of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael Maugeri III of Colquitt, Georgia, Austin Deane of Colquitt, Georgia, and Seth Deane of Colquitt, Georgia; siblings, Jenny (Joe) Ross of Alabama, Mary (Fred) Scaccia of Rome, New York, James Carpenter of Blossvale, New York, Frances Spangler of Rome, New York, and Milton (Debbie) Carpenter of Rome, New York; and many, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Carpenter and sister, Nancy Hopkins. A Memorial Service will be planned and held at the Elk's Lodge #2763 in Deep Creek, Florida at a later date where she and her husband loved to meet friends and dance the night away after moving to Punta Gorda.
