Obituary of Mary Jane Davidson

Mary Jane Davidson was born on June 11, 1922 in Clarendon, Jamaica to the late Thomas Woolley and the late Keturah Gordon-Woolley. She was the youngest of four children who preceded her in death. Mary was educated in Jamaica, West Indies. She attended Kingston Public Hospital Nursing School where she graduated as a registered nurse. She continued her education at Victoria Jubilee Hospital School of Nursing where she became certified in midwifery. Mary worked as a resident nurse at Alexandria Community Hospital. She continued to advance in her nursing career when she became a matron at St Mary Infirmary. Upon relocating to the United States in 1967, she worked as an RN in the nursery at St. John's Episcopal Hospital until she retired in 1987. On December lQth 1958, Mary married the love of her life, Austin Alexander George Davidson. Through this union, they raised four children (Genevieve, Michael, Ian, and Faith). She served in several capacities at The First Church of God until her husband, Austin, was called to pastor The Faith Mission Church of God in Brooklyn, New York. Mary served alongside her husband until he retired from pastoring in 1997. They then moved to Port Charlotte, Florida and joined the Community Church of God. Mary continued to serve in several capacities which included teaching Sunday School, preaching the gospel, singing in the choir and playing the piano. Mary will always be remembered for her dedication to God and her family. Her knowledge of the word of God was substantial and she used that knowledge while preaching the word of God. Mary loved to play the piano, organ, and even the accordion. Mary leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life, her loving and devoted husband of 56 years, Austin Davidson, her children, Genevieve Henry, Michael Davidson, Ian Dale Davidson, Faith Webster (Niles), her grandchildren, Ryan Henry, Dale Anthony Davidson, Nicole Davidson, Christine Webster and Angelica Webster, and many other relatives, church family and friends. loving, christian home.
