Obituary of Rosemary Dorian Garber

Rosemary Dorian Garber, 98, daughter of the late Fred and Harriet Spittal, long time resident of Port Charlotte, died peacefully on April 29, 2015. She was born in Ashtabula, OH and grew up on the great lakes where she developed a life-long love of the sea. She moved to Erie, PA where she and her husband of 43 years raised 6 daughters and 1 son. She is pre-deceased by her husband, William E. Garber and a sister, Jean E. Mackin. She is survived by daughters Mary Ann Ponder of Grand Terrace, CA; Sally J. Beberman (the late Alan), of Jupiter, FL; H. Sue Gaul (James) of Guyton, GA; Phyllis M. Luty (Kenneth) of Port Charlotte, FL; Bonnie L. Hankins (the late Larry) of Sacramento, CA; and Robin J. Ahmer (Scott) of Colorado Springs, CO and son Jan W. Garber (Janet) of Pinehurst, NC; 6 grand children and 6 great grand children. She was a member of Sweet Adelines for many years in both Port Charlotte and Erie. She was also a member of The Moose Lodge, The Elks and The American Legion post 110 of Port Charlotte. She was an avid landscape painter. Her kindness and generosity to her many friends will be missed. She was a lover of animals. Arrangements by Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematory.
