Obituary of Edward William White

Edward (Bill) William White, 56, of Punta Gorda passed away in his sleep on Friday, January 2, 2015. Bill was the first child born to Edward Woodford White and Judy (Anderson) White on November 10, 1958, in Hickory, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Wilmot, Ohio, and graduated from Fairless High School. He moved to North Canton, Ohio, where he married Jan Heiser in 1987. In 1995, Bill and his family moved to Sarasota, Florida where his children would graduate from high school. Soon after he and Jan became a residents of Punta Gorda, Florida. Bill was a critical care nurse who was passionate about helping others. Previous employment includes owning his own welding business in Canton, Ohio, and prior to that as a welder at Timken Roller Bearing in Canton. His interests included fishing, his motorcycle, and taking cruises with his wife. Bill was a family man who took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and who cherished the time they were able to spend together. Bill was a loving son, father, and a devoted husband. Bill is survived by his widow, Jan White; his children, Dane Hamilton of Punta Gorda, FL, Erin White of Columbia, MO, and Ryan White, a Navy Petty Officer stationed in Atsugi, Japan; his parents, Judy White and Edward White of Arcadia; and his three sisters, Wendy Yoder of Wilmot, OH, Beth Swartzentruber of Punta Gorda, FL, and Laura Newman of Zanesville, OH, and his two beloved dogs, Sally and Charlie. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 11:00AM at the First Baptist Church located at 9500 96th Avenue in Arcadia, FL.
