Uncle Frank, I want to thank you for the time I got to spend with you last year. For 5 months I got to be with you thru the good times and bad and you never gave up. Teachin me that south went away from the house and north always brought me back & the truck always made a left turn after we left wal-mart to the dairy delight for a chocolate shake and then took the long way home. sshhh don't tell auntie pat :). I am so happy that your dream came true when you got to dance with chrisy at her wedding, you glowed that night and you made it to kattys graduation. You always said if you can set golds it was easier to make them come true instead of just thinkin about them. You are always right.
You are the strongest and most loving man around and you loved family. Always worrin about them instead of yourself. Teaching me about flowers and rocks and jem stones even the moose poop. :) I did try to get my fingers to go right to wrap the stones and all you would say is keep tryin. I will always cherish those talks we had sitin out by the pool and you tellin me what animal was make the noises or callin for its mate. I knew I could always call you when I had something to fix at the house and you would talk me thru it-from squeaking doors to re-roofin my wishing well in the yard. You always tried to look for the good in people and spoke to them straight up and gave everyone a chance to prove themselves. You always knew who to forgive and always said you can love everyone BUT could not forgive everyone. I will remember all the storys of sailin and all the wonderful people you meet and kept in touch with and remembering the Fitzgerald. I want to also thank you for showin me around the ships when you docked in duluth and then got to bring you home for supper or take you shopin. For all the wonderful times we had when we went campin at whiteface and rememberin the skunk under the lawn chair.
Now you can see all the ships and the sailors and you can sail the lakes forever. Please watch over everyone and stop and say hi sometime when you are in port. Love you lots and will Miss you always.

Dear Grandpa Frank, You have spoken with me about life a few times, and during those conversations you have told me to always look at the positive in a situation and always hold my head high. Grandpa will always be remembered as a terrific dad, grandpa, and great grandpa, cant forget a great salor! You have shown me how to polish stones, shoot the squirrels out of your trees in the back yard, and most importantly to be a good man and father!! I will never forget you or forget the way you were so humble to everybody who you talked to, i will try to be more like you grandpa... Especially try to be the best father my kids have ever seen!! The Stelzer family i have created will always remember who there great grandfather was and know how good of a man you will always be! I hope you look down on us from time to time to see your grand son and my fiancee, as well as your great grandkids! We will look at the stars and know you are one of them staring down at us! RIP Grandpa Frank! We love you with all our hearts!!

11/4/2014 Oh my Handsome Daddy!!! I longed for years now to have one of your wisker kisses, hear a goofy joke, embrace into one of your good bear hugs or even do a little dance jig like we would do years ago no matter where we would be just to put some more JOY into that moment or add extra energy to our smiles. ELECTRIFYING!!! Your stedfast determination to get through situations will always be one of your many great trade marks. We know that you are of course busy at work, planting what needs to be planted, polishing those stones, seeking out all of the various crew members of the different ships from the two men that were in the engine room explosion in the early 1970's to all of the crew of the Edmund Fitzgerald which at one time was the Flag Ship of the Oglebay Norton Ship Company. God loved your dedication dad and so did every crew member of every single ship that you were on and so did all of us.
I have missed you dearly and now I will continue to miss you in such a different way but my heart is at such a peaceful stage. I know you & others were/are upset with me for a long time, forgiveness is a difficult task for many of us to do. I understand.
Let me just tell all of you, Forgiveness is such a blessing to give not only the person you are forgiving but a gift for yourself as well. God put our eye in the front of our head not in the back, car windshields are larger then the back window and even smaller is the rear view mirror. God wants us to move forward and keep memories just that, Memories. Do not keep looking in that small rear view mirror at the past, look at the bright future.
Our message for you Dad and all who read this.
John 16:22 Your Sorrow Will Turn into Joy. you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.
Ephesians 1:7-10 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses-sins, according to the riches of his grace.
I love you Dad, Mom, Bruce, Greg, Taylor and all of the family.
Thank-You to Bruce, Lori, Kristen, Mark & Kaitlyn for taking great care of Dad & Mom.
Peace, comfort and Gods loving grace be with all of you.

So sorry for your loss. I will remember Uncle Frank as a kind and gentle soul, with few words to say. I do remember when he spoke about his feelings/experience with the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
I hope your memories of him will give you comfort.
