Obituary of Ruby Lee Thomas Robinson

Ruby Lee Thomas Robinson was born September 25, 1928 to Willie Mae Bell and Loneie Thomas. She was cared for and nurtured to adulthood by Ida Thomas, her grandmother. Ruby quietly passed away October 19, 2014 in Fort Lauderhill, Florida. She was employed in Boca Grande, FL for many years as a domestic caregiver. Ruby was a life-long native of Punta Gorda, FL. where she married Martin Robinson. She also raised two children, Walter Thomas (deceased) and Luegenaer Thomas of Punta Gorda, FL. She leaves to mourn, devoted grandsons, Loneie Hubbart (Orlando,FL), Norris Hubbard (Punta Gorda, FL.), Walter Thomas II (Port Charlotte, FL), Tyre Rashaad Thomas, Jerrell DiJon Thomas, (Arcadia, FL.) Dishon Platt (North Port, FL) and granddaughters, Tyquesha Thomas (Punta Gorda, FL.) and Takira Thomas. She leaves to also cherish her memory, a close set of cousins including Lloyd Thomas, Elder Isaac Thomas (Charlie Ann), Earlene Oliver (Punta Gorda, FL.), Betty (Herbert) Woodard (Winter Haven), Dr. Rudy Twiggs (Tampa, FL), Edward (Eunice) Twiggs (West Palm Beach, FL.) and host of nieces, nephews, and friends. A treasured niece and care giver, Debra Conaway (Fort Lauderdale, FL.), two sister-in laws, Fannie Mae Robinson (Tampa), and Kathryn E. Fullins (New York). Ruby will always be remembered for the love she shared with her children and grandchildren and the sacrifices she made to provide for them. She was a unique entrepreneur. She had a passion for fishing and bargain shopping. Ruby was proud to be a member of Saint Mark's Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation is Saturday, Nov. 1 at 9:45 AM at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Rd., Punta Gorda, with services immediately following.
