Obituary of Robert Edward Shaffer

Robert Edward Shaffer passed away September 5 in Port Charlotte. He came to the area from Virginia in 1961. Robert served proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII and was honorably discharged in 1947. He was the last surviving charter member of the Port Charlotte Moose Lodge. He was predeceased by his loving wife in 1997. Robert leaves behind two daughters, Terrie Newsom and Diane Shaffer as well as 3 grandsons and 2 great granddaughters. Inurnment with military honors will take place Friday, Sept. 12 at 11:00 AM in the Garden of Honor at Charlotte Memorial Cemetery, 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Road in Punta Gorda.
