Obituary of Julie A Powers

Julie A Worthington Powers, 83, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Columbus, Indiana, passed away, Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Bayfront Health Port Charlotte. She was born to the late Harold O. and Edna I. (nee: Drake) Worthington, on June 13, 1931 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Moving to Punta Gorda in June 1995 from Columbus, Indiana, after retiring from Meijer Retail Store. She has preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Richard. Julie was an accomplished artist, loved antiques, playing cards and mahjong, most of all CHOCOLATE! She is survived by her loving daughters, Karen Cavanaugh of Port Charlotte, Robin Ash and her husband Kenneth of Port Charlotte, and Lori Knobloch of Plainwell, MI; Granddog Tucker; 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to American Cancer Society in Julie's memory. Julie loved life, family, friends, she will be missed by all who loved her. Dress casual for her life's celebration.
