Obituary of Joan A. Stevens

Joan A. Stevens, 82, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte. Mrs. Stevens was born May 14, 1932 in White Plains, New York to Arthur and Anne Graebe and moved to this area 34 years ago from West Nyack, NY. Joan and her husband, Jim, were co-owners of Gospel Gifts Christian Bookstore prior to retirement. She was a longtime member of First Alliance Church of Port Charlotte. Mrs. Stevens is survived by her sons, James C. (Jean) Stevens of Mantometi, MN and Keith D. (Vicki) Stevens of Woodstock, GA; daughters, Sheryl L. (Jeff) Care of North Port, FL, Pamela K. Hickman of Port Charlotte, and Hope A. (Paul) Matthews of Fishers, IN; 15 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in 2006. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.
