Obituary of Marie Jocelyne Theodat

Marie Jocelyn Theodat, 60 of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was born and raised in Port Au Prince, Haiti. After becoming a registered nurse, she relocated to the United States, living in Miami for a short time. While in the U.S., she was able to reunite with her childhood sweetheart, Frantz, and the couple moved to Brooklyn, New York. Shortly after, they were married and had two children, Clifford and Valerie Theodat. In 1988, after spending some time in New York, the family decided to move to Port Charlotte, Florida, where they enjoyed their life together Marie dedicated 25 years of her life as a caregiver; she was also a devoted mother and wife. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Frantz Theodat; a son, Clifford Theodat of Port Charlotte; a daughter, Valerie Theodat of Port Charlotte, a grandchild, J.C. and expecting a second. Visitation will be held from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery at 9400 Indian Springs Cemetery Road, Punta Gorda, FL. Funeral services will be held at 10AM, Friday, October 11, 2013 at Murdock Baptist Church, 18375 Cochran Blvd, Port Charlotte. Entombment will follow in the Tranquility Hall Mausoleum at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery. All memorial contributions will be donated to charities that are focused on the education of healthy eating and lifestyles in honor of Marie J. Theodat.
