Obituary of John P. Garbowicz

John P. Garbowicz, 80, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte. Mr. Garbowicz was born February 1, 1933 in Evanston, Illinois to Charles and Cecelia (nee Ratajczyk) Garbowicz and moved to this area 26 years ago from Woodridge, Illinois. He worked as a customer service representative for IBM and was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Air Force. Mr. Garbowicz was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. Mr. Garbowicz is survived by his loving wife, Kathy (nee Zenner) Garbowicz of Port Charlotte; sons, Kenneth (Janice) Garbowicz of Green Bay, WI, Robert (Cynthia) Garbowicz of Bolingbrook, IL, and Ronald (Melissa Erickson) Garbowicz of Champlin, MN; grandchildren, Tiffanie (Steve) Jacobson of Oakwood Hills, IL, RJ (Jennifer) Garbowicz of St. Petersburg, FL, Michael Garbowicz and Zachary Garbowicz of Bolingbrook, IL, Brian Garbowicz of Eden Prairie, MN, and Nicole Garbowicz of Omaha, NE; 2 great-grandchildren, Justin and Cali Garbowicz.
