Obituary of Madeleine Demosthenes

Madeleine Demosthenes, 92, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Signature Health Care in Port Charlotte. Ms. Demosthenes was born Jun 8, 1921 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to Turene and Mezilia (nee Papouloute) Demosthenes and moved to this area 4 years ago from Bridgeport, Connecticut. She was a homemaker and member of Mont des Olivier Seventh Day Adventist Church in Norwalk, CT. Ms. Demosthenes is survived by her husband, Jean Leonard Louis of Port Charlotte, FL; sons, Jean Ramarre Louis of Rhode Island and J. Mario Louis of Haiti; daughters, Marie Gourege of Port Charlotte and Michaelle Louissaint of Haiti; daughter by adoption, Marie Marthe Falaise of Paris, France; 15 grandchildren including Ronald Querette of Bridgeport, CT, Milie Querette of Bridgeport, CT, Tatiena Byron and Erna Paul, both of Haiti, Fritzareth Gilmore of Norwalk, CT, Frantz Goureige , Ruben Louis, Angeline Louis, Patricia Louis, Emmanuela Louis, Reginald Louis, Renedia Louis, Rasheed Louis, Tanisha Louissant, and Max Louissant; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Yvette Alphonse. A Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Brooklawn Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bridgeport, CT with burial to follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport.
