Obituary of Doris Nadine Bartnik

Doris Nadine Bartnik, 75, of Punta Gorda, Florida, formerly of Amherst, Ohio, passed away peacefully under the care of Tidewell Hospice on Thursday, August 21, 2013 in Port Charlotte. She was born to the late George and Rexford (nee: McMillion) Ammons on June 5, 1938 in Massillon, OH. Doris moved to Punta Gorda from Lorain Ohio in 1987, and attended Hixon's School of Floral Design. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association, the Punta Gorda Garden Club, The First United Methodist Church, worked the polls during elections for the board of elections of Charlotte County, and for Doris it was an honor to receive the award of Good Samaritan by Charlotte County for all her volunteering hours within the community. Doris shared her contagious gift, her love for flowers, she taught and encouraged many ladies to get involved with decorating the historical homes for the holidays, to break down floral arrangements from Sunday services, Doris loved to collect small baskets and containers for her mission and also make individual bud vases for the sick or homebound members of the United Methodist Church. HUGE! Dog lover that's Doris, there wasn't a dog she didn't love and want to give snacks too! She is survived by her loving children, son, Victor John Monz, III from Hemet, CA; daughter, Deborah L. Stoner and her husband Bill of Orlando FL; granddaughter, Natalie Collins and her husband Chuck, grandson Nick Stoner; very adored great grandchild Ryan. Her family and friends will always remember her contagious laugh; love of life and until the very end a positive outlook for life. She's battled a big storm now she's dancing in the rain with the Lord and all the doggies. She is missed and loved by all who knew her.
